And once more, reading inspiration.

Saw this flowchart for picking the next book to read today. I think it is quite good, except I don't think Sci-fi vs Fantasy would be my starting point.  Clicky to get full-sized version.

Also, a question. Do you tend to read blogs on their actually webpages or do you prefer to get your content in readers such as google reader, etc.

I was browsing my morning internet that includes an illustrations community on LJ and saw this -

It's me~ How exciting is that ? Done by pblcb-pblcb over at Live Journal. Look at the original bigger picture by following the link or clicking on the pic to see some detail. I love the curly bottom whiskers ^^;;; And the teeth. Of  course this person doesn't know me, so it is just one of those awesome coincidences ^^;;

I'm really bad at updating this ^^;; I've spent the past day reading through a friend's blog, well, I've started with entries in 2003 and am only up to 2005 now. It feels very nostalgic - all the old memes and quizzes and seeing how people and cliques change over time and what stays the same. I am almost tempted to start writing a diary again lol. Guess I should dig up my old one (the abridged and censored edition) and have a read through that, might give me some insight into what kind of person I think I am.

I do love stop-motion animation ^^;;

Sean McGinnis

These look like 3D renders. Hoverer these are actual 3-dimensional sculptures created from thread and rope. I like the pink one the most, it looks like a jelly fish, so you can pretend that you are at the bottom of the sea  ^-^

Read about it here.

Sea blue

The Pier at night.

The colour change is hypnotising but the fresh night wind is rather refreshing.
Not a bad combination.

I love the way the sea looks at night, the surface of the water looks like you could take a walk upon it. But if you tried, you would sink and sink and sink forever.

Still playing around with the "Retro camera" app ^^;; It IS silly, but I'm not a fan of my phone's built in camera.

This little guys clutter up my desk at home ^^;;

You've seen Mugi before, but now she found a nice big Kopiko pillow ^^;; She looks like she is having sweet dreams :D

Tokidoki's Moofia and my sky-camo egg plane I made from a kit and painted myself ^^;; I wouldn't mind making more models if they didn't just turn into dust collectors once finished.

A little project I'm working on at the moment.
A very ugly scarf :> But why would I be making something so aesthetically wrong?

And this is the evidence fir me being a nana. Saturday night funs

It is easy to believe in parallel universes when you notice how little one's life affects the lives of others.

Lucky thirteen.

The lack of decent coffee places in Riccarton upsets me. But I got a cool number and a very charismatic server. Did some people watching and doodling before going back to the daily routine.
Does anyone know where to get a decent cup of Joe these days?

Как завязывать шарфы, платки, палантины

To remind myself that there is more than one way of tying a scarf.

 While I'm sure some people are quite sick of jumping photos, I must admit I do have a thing for them. Yowayowa woman is a daily photoblog of levitation I came across while i was in my "hibernating" state.

My one question is "What's with the gum boots?".

And whenever I dream of flying, that is how I fly, hovering about a foot or two off the ground, trying to keep a balance and not fall on my face. I guess I don't really like talking about my flying dreams, it makes the feeling wear off and I think it would be horrible if one day my flying dreams stopped u-u;

The day I post a picture of a kid on my blog >_>
</start apocalypse>

But c'mon, a plushie integral? That is so awesome :D
and it gives a  whole new meaning to taking an integral he-he-he.

Also I've been laughing at jokes that are not even really funny lately, even M. looks at me funny for laughing at  them. I think it must be a sign of stress, or excess junk-food consumption. Although those two are closely related anyway.

picture stolen from a maths blog here.

It is rather odd

When you are studying with a white cat on your lap, look down and find put that thwarting cat is covered in bits of chocolate.
Also, studying seems to require way more energy than any physical exercise I have ever attempted doing.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

The rainy weather today is so nice and comfortable, like curling up on the couch with a blankie and a cat not cold at all :D After studying all day >_> and going out for yummy foods (so full) I spent the evening watching silly math-inspired videos from Vi Hart
such as this, some of them made me literally LOL (good thing M. is in the other room, playing some silly game on the PS3 with his headphones on)

And while I'm on the subject of youtube videos that made me lol... Almost 4 minutes of nerdy jokes

Then of course link-hopping around the place lead me to pretty geometry and fractal-like pictures based incorporating the human body. Although I have heard of the site before, I had not got around to checking it out until today ^^;;  These are done using 3D models, as opposed to actual naked people as the name might lead you to believe. so it is completely safe XD
And on this note, I think I shall go read some Middlemarch on the couch and see if I can grabitate* some kitties and maybe a back-rub.

Clicky on the totoro to go to the lovely Blackmago's DA account :d
I do love pixel art meets gifs. <3

*to grabitate, use one's grabity, or the grabitational pull.

Yummy berries in the sun.

I was watching New tales of Giaseng and eating some snacks when I realised they look like little cakes n.n so I took a photo. Pardon the freak contrast, it gets rather bright here in the afternoon.
Oh and I love the notebook in the background ^_^ M got it for me. The girl has BOTH a bright afro AND round glasses n.n

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

It was sunny and warm today and I got up "early" to go for a walk around the botanical gardens with Y. We ventured out into town, the parts of it which are not cordoned off to rubber neck a little. Saw Chch cathedral for the first time since the quake and found out that Elmo Courts (? The peachy coloured building opposite of the Police) has been demolished. That was pretty sad since I have some fond memories of it. Another building I like is still standing though, but probably not for much longer.

omg Kaiji

My oh my, they are making a Kaiji figma(?) how absolutely unexpected. But I do want. It would be so very odd to own a male figurine though o-o;; Should I be using the term "figure" instead... Hmm!

Katamari cuteness

I know that Katamari is really old now and everyone has seen it, but it is still cute.
But I saw this Katamari cake today and could not not share it.

A helping hand

Or a zombie apocalypse?

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

The roses keep on coming.

My parents brought me a little present from their garden. They don't look like much but they do make me smile when I'm in the kitchen getting a drink.

I do have a thing for little roses, their petals wrapped together so tightly. Someone told me that a little rose is called a rosin, but I'm not sure if that is correct.

Snow bunnies

Apparently Japanese people make bunnies out of snow o-o;;; How is that for a cuter version of snowmen and snow angels :D

I want the nails. They are so moe.
